Los Angeles Clean Tech Calendar 2012 – January

Welcome to the January 2012 Clean & Green Tech Events Calendar, our first notice of meetings, events and conferences for the new year.  There are only a few local conferences and events for January but there is still plenty to do.  Go on out and participate!

Jan 9 – Cleantech Opportunities in Southern China – U.S. Department of Commerce invites U.S. clean technology exporters to participate in a free webinar highlighting an upcoming trade mission to the International Environmental Expo in Shanghai (March 7-9, 2012).  This is a webinar for those interested in participating in the trade mission.

Jan 10 – Are We Winning the Battle to Recycle Electronic Waste?  The Clean Technology Council’s January event features Jeff Albert, COO of PC Recycle, to discuss the impact of regional and global efforts to keep landfills free of e-waste.  PC Recycle works in collaboration with other scrap and recycling specialists who have signed the Basel Action Network (BAN) in North America.  SoCal IP Law Group, LLP, Westlake Village, 6 – 9 PM

Jan 19 – American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Regional Roundtable –  Join California Energy Commission Chairman Robert Weisenmiller and Dan Adler, President of the California Clean Energy Fund for a discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the renewable energy industry in the western region.  Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills, 2 – 5 PM

Jan 20 – Green LAVA Monthly Meeting – Justin Bzdek, CEO and president of Symbios Technologies and Dr. Nazli Yesiller, Director Global Waste Research Institute, Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo are the guest speakers for the first meeting of 2012.  Marcum Stonefield, Century City, 7 – 9 AM.   Free to LAVA members; Registration required.

Jan 22-24 – VX2012 – VerdeXchange Market Makers Conference – an international, executive level conference that brings together market leaders from all sectors of the green economy for two days of high-level discussion, interaction and market making.  Marriott, Downtown Los Angeles

Jan 27 – The Future of Water in Southern California – Local source development promises greater reliability, water security and progressively more cost-effective sources of water.
