Feb 28 – LAVA Member’s Only event at CODA Automotive, Los Angeles.

Mar 1 – LAVA hosts PwC’s Shaking the MoneyTree  The MoneyTree Report is a quarterly study of venture capital investment activity in the United States. Mar 8 – The first Women in LAVA Pitch Competition before a panel of investment professionals including Sara Weinheimer of Golden Seeds, Julia Dilts of Maverick Angels, and, Kevin Scanlon of the Pasadena Angels. The competing presentations will be assessed based on a combination of the quality of the basic business plan and the quality of the pitch.  Century City.

Mar 14 – 9th Annual LAVA Awards Dinner featuring Master of Ceremonies, Frank Mottek, host of the KNX Business Hour.  The LAVA Awards honor Southern California’s best start-up and emerging growth companies and recognizes Venture Capitalist Jonathan Funk upon his induction into the LAVA Hall of Fame.  Fairmont Miramar, Santa Monica.

Mar 16 – Green LAVA Monthly meeting – Program in development.  Sponsored by Marcum, LLP, Century City.

Mar 21 – LAVA Mobile Monthly meeting – Program in development.  Sponsored by Ernst and Young at the Working Village, Santa Monica

Mar 23 – LAVA Healthcare Monthly meeting – will feature Maneesh Goyal, founding partner of MergerTech Capital, a venture-capital fund in Orange County focused on early-stage healthcare IT companies.  Pepperdine University, Howard Hughes Center
