Green LAVA Meeting – 18 May, 7:00 AM

Make plans to attend the next Green LAVA meeting in Century City – Friday, May 18, 7:30AM on Level D, Conference Room A at 2029 Century Park East.

The May Program will feature:

Mr. Fred Walti – Executive Director of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator  will give an update on LACI, the Clean Tech Corridor and Cleantech LA.  Fred and team are working to establish the LA region as the global leader in research, commercialization, and deployment of clean technologies.  Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator is a newly formed, city-funded private non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the commercialization of clean technologies in Los Angeles.   Cleantech LA is a non-profit consortium of research universities, government, and industry whose mission is to foster the conditions necessary for a clean technology ecosystem to take root in the LA region.    

Green Globe, LLC and Green Globe Financing Forum™ Founder and CEO, Chris Kimmes will introduce us to Green Globe Financing Forum.  The Forum provides members access to capital, traditional and alternative financing as well as strategic and practical advice, guidance and counsel.   Mr. Kimmes will be speaking on the topics of the Sustainability Industry:
1. How is it defined
2. What industry clusters does it consist of
3. Sized up… Deals being done, who is doing them
4. Why we need it to move forward
5. What are the voids or needs and how Green Globe can assist

Kerry L. Bonner, GEEP Project Manager of the Center of International Trade Development at El Camino College, will introduce us to the California Cleantech Company Road Show Trade Mission to China August 20 – September 2, 2012.   Join El Camino College Center for International Trade Development and experience five distinct Chinese regional trading cities—Hong Kong, Chengdu, Nanjing, Yixing, and Qingdao. Learn about cleantech business opportunities, present and promote your firm’s cleantech products and/or services to local and provincial decision makers, participate in cleantech site visits and in matchmaking sessions.  

And of course there will be plenty of time for questions and answers, networking and the getting updates on LAVA and the other Significant Interest Groups.
