Los Angeles Clean Tech Calendar 2012 – June

Welcome to the June 2012 Clean Tech Calendar of events for southern California.  This Calendar is provided by Green LAVA – the Strategic Interest Group of the Los Angeles Venture Association dedicated to exploring and explaining regional clean and green technology, business and trends.

May 21- 23 – XXI Annual La Jolla Energy Conference – The Institute of the Americas convenes energy ministers, company executives, bankers, civil society and others to discuss current trends, geopolitics, new projects, changes in regulations and new investment opportunities in the Western Hemisphere.  La Jolla.

May 25 – Early Registration for Women in Green Forum ends.  The conference will be held in Santa Monica at the end of August.  Sheraton Delfina, Santa Monica.

May 29 – IPAM Public Lecture “A World Predominately Powered by Solar and Wind Energy?”  Walter Kohn, UCSB, Nobel Laureate, contends that the entire deficit stemming from the impending exhaustion of oil and gas might be compensated in about 10 to 20 years by continuing aggressive commitment to solar and wind energy. Fowler Museum, UCLA, 4:00 – 5:00 PM.

May 31 – June 3 – Green Business BASE CAMP inaugural event, provides expertise in entrepreneurial skill-building, industry-specific tools, strategic networking, expert coaching and access to the most successful people in the cleantech business.  The Colburn School, Downtown Los Angeles.

June 4 – 7 – Sustainable Brands Conference – is where sustainability, brand and innovation leaders from around the world gather to learn, share and take action together to shape the future.  San Diego.

June 5 – The Clean Technology Council Conference’s First Tuesday event:  Can your Green Superheroes Develop a Sustainable Business Strategy? will feature Gerald Olesker, CEO, ADG Eco Lighting Products.  Westlake Village, 6:00 PM

June 7 – How To Do Business with Utilities in Energy Efficiency and Demand Response Technologies.  Southern California Edison is hosting the next  TRIO (Technology Resource Incubator Outreach) symposium to help entrepreneurs, investors and university researchers understand how to work with the Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) on the integration and commercialization of energy efficiency or demand response technologies.  USC, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

June 10 – VISION House – Structure Home is proud to partner with Green Builder Media in the development of VISION House Los Angeles (VHLA). This home is located in Pacific Palisades and will demonstrate a vision of the future, featuring improved products, building practices, systems and solutions that enhance energy efficiency, air and water quality, durability and resource preservation.  Pacific Palisades, noon.

June 12 – PortTechLA Forum will present Susan Hayman, VP, Foss Maritime.  She will discuss the technology and performance of the Green Dolphin, A Clean Tug.  LA Harbor College, 10:00 AM – noon.

June 15 – Green LAVA monthly meeting.  Century City, 7:00 – 9:00 AM, hosted by Marcum, LLP.

June 18-21 – Clean Technology 2012 is part of the annual multi-disciplinary and multi-sector conference addressing advancements in traditional technologies, emerging technologies and clean business practices applied towards a more sustainable future.  Santa Clara Convention Center.
