Carla Peterman, California Energy Commission, to keynote PortTech EXPO 2012

Commissioner Carla Peterman of the California Energy Commission will present the keynote address at PortTech EXPO 2012. Carla Peterman was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown in January 2011. She fills the Public Member position on the five-member Commission where four of the five members by law are required to have professional training in specific areas – engineering, physical science, environmental protection, economics or law.  Commissioner Peterman focus areas include renewables, transportation, natural gas and the Integrated Energy Policy Report.

On September 5th and 6th, PortTech Los Angeles welcomes community and industry leaders, technology entrepreneurs, university researchers, and investors to PortTechEXPO 2012.  The 3rd Annual EXPO will focus on products and services, issues and opportunities for enterprises and entrepreneurs with emphasis on trade, transportation and logistics.  EXPO program topics include: Financing Technologies for Ports and Beyond; Labor Opportunities Enabled by New Technologies; Environmental Technologies for a Sustainable Future; and Homeland Security, Tools with Global Applications.  In addition to Commissioner Peterman’s keynote address, PortTechEXPO 2012 also features sponsored breakout sessions, exhibitors, demonstrations and the Entrepreneur’s Showcase and Pitch Competition showcasing clean technology companies.
