alt   Welcome to the February 2013 Clean Tech Calendar of events for southern California. This Calendar is provided by Green LAVA – the Strategic Interest Group of the Los Angeles Venture Association dedicated to exploring and explaining regional clean and green technology, business and trends.

Jan 28 -31 – 4th Annual Next Generation Bio-Based Chemicals will convene with strategists, financiers, business development officers, product stewards, and R&D directors from chemicals, bioplastics, consumer goods, and agribiz leaders from around the world.  The premier global deal-making hub for the sustainable chemicals industry will meet at the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar.

Jan 29 – 31   Green Data Center Conference is a comprehensive educational experience for data center professionals looking to optimize their facility through increased energy efficiency and innovative data center design trends. Jan 29 – 31   DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition is the utility industry’s leading smart grid conference and exposition, covering automation and control systems, energy efficiency, demand response, renewable energy integration, advanced metering, T&D system operation and reliability, power delivery equipment and water utility technology.  San Diego Convention Center

Feb 3 – 5   The 6th Annual VerdeXchange brings together 100+ leading private and public market makers, thought leaders and business executives from all sectors of the economy – finance, energy, water, waste, transportation, consumer goods, mining, forestry, government, innovation centers, academia and more – to discuss the opportunities and challenges of creating sustainable economic growth and network with the people that are making it happen.  Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza

Feb 5   The Urban Land Institute’s FutureBuild 2013, in a new partnership with VerdeXchange, brings together local industry experts and global leaders to share best practices and strategies to take green building from vision to execution.  Omni Los Angeles Hotel, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Feb 5   This month’s First Tuesday event hosted by the Clean Technology Council Green Business-Green Jobs  features Bill Harris, Founder and Director of the Ventura Highway Networking Group (VHNG).  With 20 years of Sustainable Business and Green Construction experience, Bill has helped hundreds of individuals through VHNG, a leading online community for sharing leads, contacts, industry information and career events.  He specializes in Green Business and is highly regarded by companies and leading architectural firms that need solutions to meet energy, design and product applications.  SoCal IP Law Group, Westlake Village, 6 – 9 PM

Feb 6 – 7  The 9th Annual Clean Tech Investors Summit is the premier local clean tech investment and innovation summit of the year.  Held each winter in Palm Springs, CA, the event brings together a national audience of leading investors, Fortune 500 executives, entrepreneurs, and service providers for two days of high-level presentations, conversations and networking.  Renaissance Esmeralda Resort, Indian Wells

Feb 11 – 13 The 15th Annual Corporate Venturing and Innovation Partnering event provides corporate investors with strategies to gain a competitive advantage through corporate venture capital and innovation initiatives. Capturing innovation is at the top of the corporate agenda for global growth and an important lever to increase profitability and market share. Feb 12  The monthly PortTech Forum will feature Ensolve Biosystems, a new client firm manufactures proprietary “green”, portable biotreatment systems that cost-effectively purify hydrocarbon contaminated waste streams.  EnSolve’s products address oily bilge water from ships as well as hydrocarbon contaminated process wastes, groundwater, and “Frack” wastes.  Ensolve is in beta testing with their latest remediation device at a bulk transfer facility in the Port.  John Wentworth, CEO of The Wentworth Company will present effective strategies to build your executive team. John’s insights are as important for a start-up team as they are to a 500-person company.
