Quantitative Human Capital Management – PortTech Forum – 12 Feb 2013

The February PortTech Forum will feature a presentation by staffing expert John Wentworth of Wentworth Recruiting.  John has developed a systematic method for evaluating talent and developing job specs that John refers to as Quantitative Recruiting.  The system allows hiring managers to evaluate candidate quality, the availability of talent and making better Promo - 12 Feb 13 PortTech Forumhiring decisions.  And this system can be adapted by entrepreneurs and early stage companies for job design (skills, characteristics, experience),  find the right mix of qualities and select the best candidate for these critical early recruits.

John has been involved with Human Resource Management for 3 decades, has participated in the recruitment of thousands of candidates, and, has registered a 90% success rate in an industry that averages in the low 60s.

In addition to John’s presentation, this month’s forum will feature Rich Penny, COO of EnSolve Biosystems – the developer and producer of green portable biotreatment systems that cost effectively treat hydrocarbon tainted water.  Rick will talk about EnSolve’s ongoing prototype testing of their newest product –  EnScrub – a device for removing hydrocarbons from sulfur oxide (SOx) scrubber effluents.

Registration for the event is now open at PortTechLA website.  The Forum is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Los Angeles Harbor College.  Networking begins at 10 AM and the program concludes at noon.
