alt   Welcome to the June 2013 Clean Tech Calendar of events for southern California. This Calendar is provided by Green LAVA – the Strategic Interest Group of the Los Angeles Venture Association dedicated to exploring and explaining regional clean and green technology, business and trends.

May 21 – Green LAVA Event – There are few LEED Platinum homes in existence and one of the most celebrated designers of pre-fab LEED platinum homes is Steve Glenn, CEO of LivingHome.  He will be the featured presenter at the Green LAVA May meeting on Tuesday, May 21st at the Real Office Centers in Santa Monica.  Steve has built a company distinguished for sensible design, innovation, attention to detail and leadership in creating pre-fab sustainable shelters.  ROC, 6:30 – 9:00 PM

May 23 – Commercializing Clean Tech in Los Angeles: Perspectives from the LA Cleantech Incubator and Cleantech LA The LA Cleantech Incubator (LACI) is a unique and important non-profit organization formed by the City of Los Angeles to literally incubate new green companies into health. LACI and YPE LA are hosting a special event for YPE LA members and others interested in LACI’s latest endeavors, including an overview of the organization, its merger with Cleantech LA, its portfolio companies, and opportunities offered by LACI.  LACI, Los Angeles, 6:00 – 8:30 PM

May 23 – Water Energy Smart Technology (WEST) 2013 Summit hosted by Sustainable Silicon Valley and NASA Ames Research Center is the inaugural partnership to identify and showcase game-changing, scalable, multiple-benefits solutions that address mitigation and adaptation to climate change; water availability and other issues threatening planetary sustainability. May 29 – 30 – Geopower Finance and Investment Conference brings together leading experts on technology, financing, engineering, research and analysis of geothermal project development.  This international conference is designed to be board-level, networking-heavy exclusive event led by developers, operators/owners, utilities and financiers.  The mix of formats elevates it to a key opportunity to do business.  South San Francisco Conference Center

May 30 – 20th Annual Waterkeepers Celebration – Founded in 1993, LA Waterkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore Santa Monica Bay, San Pedro Bay, and adjacent waters through enforcement, fieldwork, and community action. We work to achieve this goal through litigation and regulatory programs that ensure water quality protections in waterways throughout L.A. County. May 30 – Start Your Startup hosted by Mobile LAVA SIG will examine some of the practical, nuts-and-bolts components of building a new business in the mobile and online spaces. Entrepreneurs are naturally infused with passion, ideas, and a desire to attract people to their passion and ideas. June 11 – PortTech Forum will feature Phil Gilchrist of Antea Group talking about the ECO-SVE system – a patented remediation technology that effectively and safely treats impacted soil and groundwater by creating a re-circulatory process with zero emissions and no combustion.
