Green LAVA: Carbon, Climate Change and Water Heaters

jackie kellerNext Tuesday we renew our exploration of clean technology, the environment, green investment, the drivers of policy and our predicament with climate change.  We often hear about the impact a changing climate will have on weather patterns – more rain here, drought there, heat, cold, glacier growth and decline, Greenland turning green once again, etc.  That is the nature of perturbations to a dynamic system – the impacts to change are not linear or easily predictable.  And at a global scale it guarantees profound impact on established practices, patterns and uses.

So we’ve invited author, foodie, entrepreneur and environmentalist Jackie Keller, Founding Director of NutriFit, LLC, a Los Angeles based  healthy food company to come help us understand that it is the variability that threatens the stable, established agricultural practices and our food supplies.   And she helps us understand the changes to her business of providing fresh, gourmet, customized, delivered meal programs, full-service nutritional support, wellness coaching, and health-related products.

Sandra_Lee - Skyline InnovationsAnd for our start-up perspective we’ve invited Sandra Lee who manages Skyline Innovation’s business development efforts and demand creation initiatives.  In this role, she is responsible for revenue and pipeline development, marketing and media relations, and contract management.   Sandra will provide us with some lessons learned from along the path to becoming a successful start-up.  And she will share that it is an innovative business model can turn a player within a commodity business to a market defining specialist.
